Anne M. Szilage 95, of Rushville, IN, formally of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away in Rushville.
Anne was born August 2,1924 in Macedonia Township 32 miles from Omaha NE to Ben and Clara Baker. They descended from German farm families.
From the beginning she was the blonde blue eyed apple of her father’s eye, sometimes to the dismay of her older sister Betty.
Her life is a true love story. In 1945 as WWII raged she set eyes on a dark handsome young Romanian man wearing tennis whites. It was love at first sight!
She married that man Tomas Szilage in December of that year. They were married and devoted to each other for 74 years.
They raised their son Jeff and daughter Debbie in a warm, loving, and fun home in York, Pa where they had many great friends and neighbors. Grammsie Baker came to stay often.
She passed away on November 4, 2019 in her daughter’s home in Rushville, IN surrounded by four loving Grandchildren and eight Great grandchildren. She loved them all! She adored her kitty Fluffy and of coarse her favorite Maltese “Hurricane Charlie”!
Loving her always are her husband, Thomas Szilage of Rushville, IN; daughter, Deborah (William) Herdrich of Rushville, IN and son, Jeffery (Kandace) Szilage of St. Petersburg, FL. Many grandchildren will also miss her. She is preceded in death by her sister, Betty Davis.
