Billy Joe Porter

Billy Joe Porter, 67, of Rushville, IN went to be with Jesus on October 7th, 2022. He was the son of the late Bob and Della Porter of Glenwood, IN. 

He was an iron worker by trade and retired with the local 22 of Indianapolis. He was blessed to spend his time traveling with his wife in retirement. He loved to be surrounded and spend all of his time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed going on motorcycle rides with his wife. He was in several bands throughout his life and loved playing his guitar and singing for the Lord. He was a member of Fairview Christian Church.   He honorably served in the US Army.

He is survived by the love of his life Carla (Swim) Porter, of Rushville ; daughters Danette (Jake) Cooper of Rushville, Christina Porter of Rushville, Korrin (Ed) Ruble of Laurel, and Nichole Ringley of Rushville. He was a proud papa of Hannah (Cole) Henegar, Paige Tsareff, Carmen Ringley, Natalie Cooper, Olivia Cooper, and Jasmine Cooper. He also had 3 great-grandchildren Kay’Lani, Kali, and Azariah. His loving siblings, Becky (James) Richardson, Reine Warford, John Porter, Jeff (Julie) Porter, Greg (Rene) Porter will also miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Chris Porter, a sister Bobbie Ann Porter, a brother Jimmy Porter, and his Nanny. 

It was his wish to not have a service. The family will plan a celebration of life at a later date.
