Billy L. Reeves

Billy Lee Reeves, 79, of Roanoke, IN, passed away Oct 5, 2020 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, IN

He was born in Bessemer, AL on Sept. 2, 1941, a son of the late Maggie Irene (Lively) Harrison and Irby Lee Reeves.  He graduated from Hueytown High School in Alabama.  He served in the US Army 1959 from 1964 and earned the rank of sergeant and was stationed in Germany.

Billy married Doris K (Brewer) Arkell May 8, 2016 in Rushville and they resided in Ronanoke, IN

He was a supervisor at Dresser - Roots in Connersville, and retired 2000 after 23 years.  He also worked at INTAT for a short time and was an officer for the Rushville Police Department from 1970 - 1973.  Memberships included the Warren Lodge, F&AM and First Christian Assembly of God in Rushville.  Billy was also a musician singing in the Blue Diamond Band many years.

In addition to his wife Doris Arkell, Billy is survived by three daughters, Daphne McGuire, of Denver, CO, Wendy (Henry) Black, of Eddyville, IA, and Toni Dunwoody, also of Eddyville, IA. three step daughters, Diana (Scott) Hill, of Rushville, Angie R. Macy, of Rushville and Jackie (Darren) Case, of Hunnington, IN; step sons, Mike (Teress) Moody, Steve Moody and Richey (Della) Watson all of Rushville.

Also surviving are his grandson, Brayton Watson of Rushville; two sisters, Debbie Goodwin, Nena Parker; one brother, Eugene (Linda) Reeves, all of Alabama; one half brother, William (Kitty) Reeves of Columbus, MI; several other grandchildren and great grandchildren also will miss him.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Diane Reeves.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 PM Friday Oct. 9, 2020 at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory in Rushville, IN with Rev. Bill Beadle officiating.  Friends may call after 11 AM until the time of the service.  Military Honors will be presented at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Rushville's East Hill Cemetery.
