Obituary

Cheryl J. Eck, 69, of Rush County, passed away December 31, 2020 at Hickory Creek at New Castle.

Cheryl was born in Rushville March 18, 1951, a daughter of Bertha (Ash) and the late Charles Poe.  She married Brian A. Eck December 5, 1992 and he survives.

She was a RCHS graduate in 1969.  Cheryl Started working at INTAT May 1, 1989 and retired January 2, 2015. 

She had attended Plum Creek Christian Church but was baptized and a member since childhood at First Baptist Church in Rushville.  She was a member of the UAW.

Cheryl was a 24 year active member of ABATE of IN and volunteered as road crew staff at the BOOGIE annually.   She was very active in Region 7 of ABATE of Indiana.  Her hobbies included Harley riding and gardening.  She was a loving wife, doting mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, a loyal sister and kind friend.  She never knew a stranger. 

Cheryl is  survived by her husband Brian of Rush County; a son, Michael (Christy) Poe, of Arlington; her mother, Bertha Poe of Rushville; a sister, Janet (Boyd) Mosley of Carthage; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three step children and six step grandchildren will also miss her.

She was preceded by her Father, Charles Poe, and twin brother, C. Michael Poe; sister-in-law Bronda L. Vierling June 27, 2020, of Shelbyville who was Brian’s sister. 

Cheryl will have an Honor Ride Memorial and Celebration of Life at a later date in the summer due to the current pandemic.  Please light a candle and share a memory or condolence with the family online at www.ToddFuneralHome.com
