Christine (McQueen) Baker

Christine Baker, 90, of Buena Vista, IN, went home to her Lord January 23, 2023 at Reid Hospital in Richmond. Christine was born in Owsley County, KY on June 9, 1932, a daughter of the late Rhoda (Burch) and James Willard  McQueen. 

She married Lloyd H. Baker Jr. (Junior) in Metamora, IN on June 16, 1951. They shared 66 years together and he entered Heaven before her on November 3, 2017. She worked as a Custodian at Franklin Community Schools for 23 years. She was a member of Family Worship Center in Rushville for many years. 

Christine is survived by two daughters, Cathy (Mike) Robinson, of Connersville, IN; Lori (Doug) Thurston, of Shelbyville, IN and a son, Larry Baker, of Batesville, IN.

She is also survived by two brothers, James W. McQueen, of Laurel, IN and John Edward McQueen, of Connersville, IN. 

Christine had eight grandchildren and 4 great-grand children.  Michelle, April, Ashley, Kayla, Deneil, Kristen, Grace and Nathaniel, Abrienne, Parker, Grant and Brooks.

In addition to her husband Junior, she is preceded in death by her brother, Patrick McQueen and her son, Jim Baker.

A Celebration of Life will be 1 PM on Saturday, January 28th at Family Worship Center in Rushville, IN with Pastor Darryl Cooper officiating. Friends are welcome to come at 11 AM until time of service. She will be laid to rest at Hopewell Cemetery following the service.  Love offerings in Christine's honor can be made to Family Worship Center.
