Donald A. Laker, 78, of Rushville, IN and Eubank, KY, passed away October 8, 2021, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY.
Donald was born in Rushville, IN on March 4, 1943, a son of the late Rosella (Kreitzer) and Clarence Laker. He was the widower of Anna M. (Wilder) Laker. whom he married in St. Married Catholic Church in Rushville on Nov. 30, 1963 and she passed away Nov. 2, 2013.
He was a 1961 graduate of Rushville High School and then attended Auto Diesel Trade School in Racine, WI. He was a lifetime member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
He retired from the City of Rushville as a mechanic and also worked at Berkemeier Feed and Grain several years and Rush County Trucking several years as well.
Donald is survived by three daughters, Rose (Joseph) Laker-Weber, of Wapakoneta, OH; Bonnie Laker, of Rushville, IN; Connie Laker, of Rushville, IN; two sons Brian (Rebekah) Laker, of Rushville, IN; James Laker (companion CassieThomas) of Rushville, IN; a brother, Wilbur Laker, of Rushville, IN.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Cayla (Jeremy) Allison of Muncie, IN, Chris Glenn of Rushville; Lexy Laker of New Castle, IN; Chelsea Glenn of Indianapolis, IN; Aries (Brandon) Ralston, Bryant Laker both of Rushville, IN; Hailie Laker of Greensburg, IN; and Torie Cauldill of Shelbyville; four step-grandchildren Hailey and Shyanne Folsom of Greensburg, IN; Cody ( Brandi) Weber serving in the US Army; Garrett (Michelle) Weber of Marysville, OH; and twelve great-grandchildren also survive.
Preceding him in death are his parents, wife Anna, daughter Donna and infant son Michael and brother Larry Laker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Friday, Oct. 15, 2021 at St Mary Catholic Church 512 N. Perkins St. Rushville, IN 46173 with Rev. James Brockmeier, Celebrant.
Friends are welcome 4 - 8 PM Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021 at Todd Funeral Centre 1600 S. SR 3 Rushville, IN 46173. Burial will take place at Rushville's Calvary Cemetery.
