Donald R. Parrett, a respected member of the Connersville and Rushville communities, passed away June 29, 2023. Born in Franklin County on October 6, 1941, he was the son of the late Aaron and Cleona (Johnson) Parrett. He lived a life full of service, love, and kindness.
Don grew up in Franklin County, where he attended and graduated from Laurel High School. Don's commitment to service was evident early in his life. Following his high school graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After completing his military duty, he returned to Indiana and embarked on a distinguished career as a Detective with the Connersville Police Department.
He was an member of several organizations, including the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), the American Legion, AmVets, the Eagles Lodge, the Moose Lodge. His involvement in these associations reflected his dedication to his fellow servicemen and his commitment to community service.
Don was also deeply dedicated to his family. He married Darla D. (Paul) Parrett in 1989 and she survives him. He is also survived by his son, Ronald Parrett, and daughter, Haley Coon; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren; siblings, Margie Milbourn, Lucy Halcomb and Mae Barker and many nieces and nephews will also miss his presence.
