Edward W. Dickson

Edward W. " Ed" Dickson, 79, of Rushville, IN, passed away September 18, 2020 at Rush Memorial Hospital. 

He was born in Rushville, IN on April 17, 1941, a son of the late Margaret (Rees) and Claude J. Dickson.

Ed was a self-employed artist, notably displaying his work around the City of Rushville.  He also taught art at the Rush County Senior Center and donated his talent at many civic organizations.  His donation of time and skills to the many organizations and schools will never by forgotten.  Edward graduated from Rushville High School, class of 1960.  He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.  

Ed was active in many organizations in Rush County.  He had a special place in his heart for the Riverside Amphitheater.

Edward is survived by his two daughters, Annette M (Brett) Ratliff, of Knightstown, IN,  Jacqueline W. Dickson, of Rushville, IN;  grandson, Damian (Andrea) Dickson and great grandson, Robert Martin of Shelbyville, IN, and grandson, Eli (Robbyn) Ratliff and great grandson Lincoln Ratliff of Greenfield, IN.

Also surviving are son-in-law, Brad Newkirk of Rushville; Brother, James Dickson of Indianapolis, IN and his former wife and mother to his children, Becky (Larry) Riley of Osceola, IN.

In addition to his parents, waiting for Ed in Heaven is his daughter, Caroline Newkirk.

A Memorial Service will be Thursday, September 24th at 6 PM at Todd Funeral Centre with Pastor John Wall officiating.  Friends are welcome from 4 PM until the service. Due to the pandemic, social distancing and facial masks will be observed while inside the funeral home.
