Gene Allen Obituary

Gene Phillip Allen, 90, of Dunreith, IN, passed away at Stonebrook Rehibilation Center, in New Castle.

Gene was born in Osgood, IN on May 28, 1930, a son of the late Irene (Lauber) and Aaron Allen. He married Patricia A. Vale August 3, 1953 and she preceded him in death January 10, 2012.

After graduation from Napoleon High School, he served in the Marine Corps as a PFC in the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He worked as a Railroad engineer at Conrail 50 years retired and retired in 1993.

Gene is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Hayworth, of Lewisville, IN and a son, Gene P, (Carol) Allen, Jr, of Alva, FL.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, David L McCune, Jr, Tricia Frazier, Kenneth Hayworth, Paige Allen, Aaron Allen and Daniel Howard. His great grandchildren, Joshua McCune, Garrison McCune, Madison McCune, Kurtis Hodges, Krystal Hodges, Jesika Hodges, Jerry Lee Hodges and Guss Hodges will also miss him.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Arthur & Raymond and a son, Jerry Lee Allen.
