Karen Sue Mayse, 66, of Rushville, passed away on Nov. 26, 2022 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. Karen was born on April 26, 1956 in Connersville, IN. She was daughter of the late Talma I. (Colley) and Lawrence F. Frank.
She was the widow of Charles Mayse who died in 2012. She and Charles were married on Oct. 16, 1978. She graduated from Rushville Consolidated High School in 1975 and went on to work at Schnadig Furniture many years and then at Print Pack in Greensburg. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Rushville, and proud supporter of St. Mary Catholic School.
Karen is survived by her children, Craig Mayse, Shila L. (Melvin) Alonzo, of Rushville, Tammy L. (Gary) Smith, of Glenwood, IN as well as her step children Travis Mayse of Rushville and Tia M. Cornett, of Aurora, IN.
Karen is also survived by four sisters, Debbie Jo (Ed) Carlton, Julie M. (Joe) Jessup, Linda D. (Scot) Carr, Cathy L. McGrath, and a brother, Larry Frank all of Rushville. Also missing her are grandchildren, Penny (Brandon) Owens, Samantha (Joe) Mundy, Cody Smith, Emma Jane, Bobbie Ann, Kaelynn Mayse, Lilianna Alonzo, Linsi Alonzo and Shelbi Mosley.
Her great grandchildren, Gwendolyn, Aubrey, Cash and Madison; niece's and nephews, Christy Carlton, Kelly (Clint)Piles, Josh & Jared Jessup, Ross Carr, Harlie (Ryan) O'Dell, Michael (Destiney) Frank, Brandon McGrath and several great niece's and nephews will also cherish her memory.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Mayse; and the mother of her grandchildren, Lindsey Webster
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 1st at 11 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church 512 N. Perkins St. Rushville, IN 46173 with Rev. James Brockmeier officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30AM until the funeral mass. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Rushville.
