Lester I. Solomon

Lester I. Solomon, 63, of Columbus, IN, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ October 21, 2020 at his residence. 

He was born in December 2, 1956 in New Castle, IN a son of the late Janet (Converse) and Lawrence  Solomon.  He was the husband of Militine (Schaeffer) Solomon whom he married August 5, 1989 and she survives.  They shared 31 years together.

Lester graduated from high school while serving in the US Army.   He was stationed in Ft. Richardson, AK and was honorably discharged.  He graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2001 from the Mid-South Christian College in Memphis, TN.

He was served as a minister in Tennessee and Indiana.  He was a member of Garden City Christian Church in Columbus, IN.

In addition to his loving wife Militine, Lester is survived by his nephew, who he considered a son, Logan (Katie) Solomon of Lynn, IN; two step sons David L. Halterman, of Rushville, IN and Craig M. Halterman, of Escondido, CA.  He is also survived by three step grandchildren, Jessica, Jake & Jenna Halterman.  Many other neighbors, friends and church family will also miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Paul Jackson and Gary Solomon.

Graveside Services will be 11 AM Friday October 30, 2020 at Arlington East Hill Cemetery 6350 W. US-52 Arlington, IN 46104 with Pastor Brian Gilroy officiating.  Military Rites will be performed by the Rush County Honor Guard.
