Nancy Farthing Obituary

Nancy S Farthing, 88, of Rushville, IN, passed away August 27th, at her residence.

Nancy was born in Rushville, IN on February 23, 1932, a daughter of the late Augusta (Stevens) Wright and James Wright. She married Charles E Farthing Dec. 31, 1948. and he passed away December 11, 2017.

She was the bookkeeper for Farthing Sales since 1957 for many years. She drove for Meals on Wheels when it first started for many years. Nancy was also the co-owner and operator of the family grocery store many years. She was a member of Main Street Christian Church. Nancy was famous for her chocolates, chocolate chip cookies, cakes and pies. Baking was a happy place for her along with her home in Daytona, FL.

Nancy is survived by four daughters, Jane Ann (Steve) Eder, of Jefferson City, MO; Brenda (Eugene) Stanley, of Rushville, Susan (widow of Larry) Isgrigg, of Rushville, Marilee (Richard) Gardner, of Rushville; two sons Charles E. (Teresa) Farthing II, of Rushville and Alan Ray (Bonnie) Farthing, of Rushville. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Lou, widow of Paul Smith, of Rushville. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; One great great grandchild, 3 step grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren and her caregiver and 5th daughter, Penny Adams also will miss her.

In addition to her husband Charles, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Brittany and Bradley Farthing; six brothers and 3 sisters.

Due to the pandemic , Funeral Services will be Private on Monday August 31, 2020 with Pastor Chip West officiating. There will be no public visitation. She will be buried at Rushville's East Hill Cemetery.
