Richard "Dick" Lennex

Richard (Dick) H. Lennex went to his heavenly reward on March 24, 2022.  Dick was a good and faithful servant of the Lord for 86 years.

He was born to the late Lucille (Harvey) and John Henry Lennex Sr. in Loudon, TN on September 18, 1935.  Dick was one of four children including brother, Bob (wife Carol) Lennex, sister, Sharon (husband Bob) Murphy.  He was preceded in death by brother John and wife Clara Mae Lenox.

Dick married G. Marie Shafer on February 17, 1954, in New Salem, IN she survives.  Dick and Marie were blessed with four children, Katrina Lennex of Marion, IN; Richard (companion Thelma) Lennex of Valparaiso, IN; and Krista Lennex of North Carolina.  They were preceded in death by one son Brian Lennex. Brian's wife Helen survives.

Dick and Marie were also blessed with eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Dick worked in banking and financial services for 35 years.  Over the course of Dick’s career, he and Marie lived numerous places and have many friends all over the United States.  Upon retirement, Dick and Marie enjoyed many journeys and adventures in their RV.  They particularly enjoyed Gulf Shores, Alabama where they would winter with members of their camping club.  Dick was an avid reader and enjoyed his Western novels and old Western TV programs.  Dick also enjoyed NASCAR and volunteered his time at the Anderson Speedway.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Dick's name to the American Cancer Society or Heart to Heart Hospice 1385 N Baldwin Ave, Marion, IN 46952

The viewing will be Monday, March 28, 2022 at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory at 11am followed by a celebration of life at 1pm officiated by  Pastor John Wall.  Burial will follow at Rushville’s East Hill Cemetery.  Please light a candle and share a memory with the family at www.ToddFuneralHome.com
