Steven William Hockmuth

STEVEN WILLIAM HOCKMUTH, 50, of Rushville, IN, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023, in a motorcycle accident. He was born on October 10, 1972, in Janesville, WI, to Steven and Loretta, becoming the youngest of three (for the moment).

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Steven H. Hockmuth; sisters, Amy M. Hockmuth and Jean E. Trenshaw; also, his paternal and maternal grandparents. 

Steve is survived by his sons, Steven, Jr (Stevie) and Noah; mother, Loretta Trenshaw; brothers, Sean (Awgust) Hockmuth; Jason Hockmuth; and Anthony (Amanda) Tiedtke; sisters, Lynne Schroeder, and Jennifer Trenshaw; and many nieces and nephews.

Steve is also survived by his loving girlfriend, Lisa Seaborn; his Ride-or-Die, Scott Douglas; and his brothers in the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, where he was a riding member.

Steve grew up in Wisconsin, and after graduating high school he joined the US Army. His service took him to Korea, and several places in the United States. After his tour, he returned to Wisconsin where he went to school and earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering. Steve’s work took him many places before he came to Rushville. This is where he planted roots and called home.

Steve loved to ride, loved to play pool, loved to tell some crazy stories, and loved his family…but most of all he loved his sons. He will be missed.
