William Mason (Dusty) Howard, III, 64, of Rushville, IN, passed away June 24th, in Indianapolis.
Dusty was born in Rushville, IN on August 2, 1956, a son of the late Frances Dee (Jewell) and William Mason Howard, Jr.
He graduated from RCHS in 1974 and then entered the US Army where he was trained as a Military Policeman. He was an expert sharpshooter. He was honorably discharged in 1980. He married Peggy Jo Stout July 2, 2013 in Bay Minetta, AL.
He was an over the road truck driver and made 48 US states and Canada. He was active from 1979 and retired in 2005
Dusty loved driving a truck and his CB radio. He was a member of the American Legion.
Dusty is survived by loving wife Peggy Howard; three daughters, Leigha D. Howard, Jamie J. Schoettmer, Michele, (Aaron) White; three sons Michael J. (Emily) Howard, William M. Howard IV, Troy A. (Ashley) Rapp; one sister, Billie Jean Lucas(widow of Robert) ; one brother, Ricky Dee Howard (companion Liz McKinney)
Also missing him are his 13 Grandchildren, one Great Grandson, and five nephews and two nieces He has one great granddaughter on the way.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one nephew and his mother & father in law, Russell & Wilma Stout.
A Celebration of Life Service (BYOB) will be 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 7th at West End Park shelter house in Rushville. Military Honors will be held by the Rush County Honor Guard.
