William "Bill" Kirkendall

William “Bill” Kirkendall, 74, of New Salem, Indiana passed away on July 11th, 2023 while surrounded by family and holding his wife’s hand. 

Bill was born on August 28th, 1948 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Robert and Evelyn (Broderkis) Kirkendall. He was raised in Bath, IN where he graduated from Whitewater High School. Bill served in the United States Army and then attended Lincoln Tech College. He later went on to work at Visteon in Connersville for 37 years, retiring in 2006. This is where he met the love of his life, Iola. They got married in March of 1975 and enjoyed 48 years of marriage together. He was a member of the New Salem Lions Club and United Methodist Church in New Salem.

Upon retirement, Bill spent many years traveling with his wife and family. His most fond memories involve family vacations and spending time with his children and grandchildren. 

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Keith and David. He is survived by his wife Iola Kirkendall, children Mike (Angie) Kirkendall, Jeff (Lisa) Kirkendall, Jim Kirkendall, Shelly (Kent) Clark. Grandchildren Brandon Kirkendall, Riley R., Logan (Whitney) Kirkendall, Tanner Hall, Baylee Kirkendall, Alex (Kohl) Holmes, Olivia (Alex) Ammerman, Marisa (Tyler Kendall) Hall, William Kirkendall, four great grandchildren and several step grandchildren. 

Visitation Services will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 13th, 2023 at Todd Funeral Centre and Crematory in Rushville, IN. Friends are encouraged to attend until the time of funeral service at 4 p.m.
