Richard Allen Eckel, 55, of Rushville, IN, passed away in his sleep, Saturday, June 8, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral Services will be 1 PM Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the First Church of God 1220 W. US Hwy 52 Rushville, IN 46173. Pastor Gary Jordan will officiate. Visitation is from 10AM until the time of the funeral.
Rick was born in Rushville, June 25, 1963, the son of Richard F. and Delilah M. (Allen) Eckel. He married Karrie Sue Wall by the lake at the Eckel family home, June 2, 2001. The were married 18 wonderful years. He graduated from RCHS in 1982 and remained in touch with many of his classmates. He attended Vincennes and Ball State Universities studying graphic arts.
As well as being a talented artist, Rick was also a talented musician. He played drums for many years. It is also widely known that he was a Mopar nut, loving everything Mopar. His hobby working on his classic cars and truck through the years brought him much happiness. Rick worked as a machinist at Impact CNC in Rushville and was a member of the First Church of God.
Richard is survived by his wife, Karrie Eckel of Rushville; a daughter, Heather Eckel, (companion Trevor Kelley) and Rick's grandson Ezra Eckel of Indianapolis; parents, Dick and Delilah Eckel; two sisters, Deloris (Garry) Hickman; Cheryl Eckel all of Rushville. Also surviving are two nieces, one nephew; four great nieces, three great nephews and many, many friends.
